Returning after months: what is really happened?

It feels a little bit strange to write something for a project that is not really defined. I also used English to express myself in this little pages I wrote, which can be seen as something bizarre, considering that the largest part of the audience that follows my artistic activity is Italian. For an English reader, it may also appear strange: I'm using a mixture of Italian and English grammar. There's this old idea, in marketing, that suggests that you should be regularly posting on whatever online activity you're involved in. I honestly don't think it can be applied to my case. I'm alone in this venture, and I feel more comfortable posting whenever I feel to do it. For aesthetical reasons, I completely changed the colors and the tones in this blog. Right now, it's just a little project, very on the side of my life, which is filled with many deadlines and live-projects. I'd like to maintain this space as a sort of backup plan. Social media maybe won't
First step: prevention of injuries

The very first step towards a more conscious practice is the prevention of injuries. Are there any concrete ways to make our study safer? The very first suggestion is about the pauses : we can't avoid them, in any way. The benefits of alternation between focused work and relaxation are applied in many fields. We have to consider that the musician's practice is very hard because it embraces both a mental work and a phisical stress. Essentially, we're asked to put together the study and the gym. It seems very difficult, but let's take a look at what really works in terms of efficiency in both fields. When we study, the most efficient thing to do is to alternate hard and focused work with pauses: this are the principles of the Pomodoro Technique , that extablishes that every time we decide to study, we should divide our amount of disposable hours into small "bricks" made of 25 minutes of work and 5 minutes of relax. This name comes from kitchen timers shaped li
Let's get started: what is really the back pain?

Back pain is a very common symptom in the general population, and specifically in many musicians and guitarists. It's usually reported in the lower parts of the spine, in the so-called lumbar region. But what are the underlying causes? They vary, a lot, depending on the age of the patient, and this allows us to divide it into two main groups: young and old people. In fact, the younger musicians have a much higher resistance to the pain , because of two factors: they're not completely developed (from a muscular and skeletal point of view) and for this reason they're much more elastic ; the second one is the level of activity and energy they have, that gives them more phisical resistence and ability to play a lot of hours without pauses. An other interesting factor (more related to the general incidence of this injuries) is that younger subjects have a much higher incidence of lumbar hernia, which is well described by the following image: Essentially, the central part, cal

Dear readers, I'm more than happy to share with you the first article on my website. I decided to start with a blog in order to reach the widest audience possible. As an artist (or, at least, an attempting one) I have the privilege of working surrounded by Beauty, in its deepest meaning. Furthermore, by studying Music, I have the chance to meet on daily basis the best composers through their work. I decided, for this reason, to share some of the "insights" with all of you, and this is my very first step in that sense. I hope you'll stay with me along the way, we'll go together inside the world of Classical Music. In addition, we'll touch themes related to the Art in general, its role in a modern society and so on. I hope there will be many feedbacks in the future: I think we can all learn a lot from other people, if we share knowledge. Also, there will be probably other contributors and writers that will help me in the developing of the website. Stay tuned! P
